For this project we were tasked with creating a concept map over a period of three weeks. A concept is a general idea or notion formed about a particular thing. A concept map is a visual representation of your understanding of the different parts that make up a concept. For our specific concept map, we had to focus on climate change. Every couple of days over this period we were given a few new words to add to our map that connected with the other words. In order to make this map, we started by writing a word and putting a circle around it. Next we linked it to other words that it connected with it, using arrows. On the top of the line connecting the two words, we had to use a phrase that completed a sentence or showed the relationship between the two. Example: Humans --> Breathe Out --> Carbon Dioxide
This was not only an enjoyable assignment but also a very informative one as well. I had fun making this map because it showed me a new way to gather my ideas while staying very organized. This may definitely be a method that I use in the future for other classes and projects. It very accurately shows all of the connections within a system or a concept, which are things that everyone comes across in their lives. I had a good time doing this project and I think it is a good one for future classes to know and have in their skill set.
